FG Type Vibration Damper

FD and FG series vibration dampers are core protective fittings used to suppress aeolian vibrations on overhead conductors. Wind induced oscillations can cause strand fatigue, hardware damage, and even tower failure. These dampers effectively absorb vibration energy, protecting the line and extending its service life. They are typically applied when span lengths exceed 120 metres. The FD series suits aluminium and aluminium alloy steel reinforced conductors, while the FG series is for steel strands.

Material & Construction

Each damper consists of two cast‑iron weights, a high‑strength galvanized steel strand, and a clamp. The weights are symmetrically mounted at an angle, allowing the damper to absorb multiple vibration frequencies. The FD models range from FD‑1 to FD‑6, covering conductor cross‑sections from 35mm² to 630mm². FG models include FG‑35, FG‑50, FG‑70, and FG‑100 for steel strands. Weights are painted cast iron; other parts are hot‑dip galvanized. Production complies with GB2336‑85.

Quality Assurance

The steel strand is pre‑tensioned to eliminate initial deformation and ensure stable elasticity. Weight pairs are matched by individual weighing to guarantee symmetry. After assembly, resonant frequency is checked to verify damping effectiveness. Our factory is ISO‑certified and recognised as a high‑tech enterprise.
