FDNJ Vibration Damper

The FDNJ comprises weights, a galvanized steel strand, and preformed armour rods (instead of bolted clamps). The symmetrical slope between weights produces multiple resonant frequencies for effective vibration absorption across a wide spectrum. The preformed rods offer high friction and damping, and they do not deform under load. Installation requires no tools – the rods are simply wrapped around the conductor, eliminating human error and completely preventing the sliding problems associated with traditional bolted clamps. Models include FDNJ‑1/G, ‑2/G, ‑3/G for steel strands, and FDNJ‑1/2, ‑2/3, ‑3/4, ‑4/5, ‑4/6 for aluminium‑alloy‑steel‑reinforced conductors.

The preformed rods are produced on automated forming lines, with inner surfaces coated with abrasive grit to increase friction. Each batch is tested for holding power and resonant frequency to confirm multi‑frequency damping performance.
