1. Easy Installation: Ordinary hardware requires specialized tools for installation, making the process complex and time-consuming. Pre-stranded hardware, thanks to its unique structure, allows workers to simply wind each pre-stranded wire in the predetermined direction without any auxiliary tools. This reduces installation difficulty and the load on workers climbing towers, and facilitates visual inspection of installation quality.

 

2. High Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving: In my country's power grid construction, hardware made of ferromagnetic materials, such as the XGU type suspension clamp, has been widely used, primarily due to its low material cost and ease of processing. However, with in-depth research on ferromagnetic hardware, its high energy consumption during line operation has gradually attracted attention. To reduce energy consumption, energy-saving aluminum alloy hardware is widely adopted both domestically and internationally. Pre-stranded hardware is generally made of aluminum alloy, which, compared to ferromagnetic hardware, not only meets the mechanical strength requirements of transmission lines but also offers significant energy savings. According to an energy consumption test report (No.: K111S30663) provided by Beijing PLP Company and conducted by the China Electric Power Research Institute, the energy loss per unit of traditional ferromagnetic clamps is 58.8W, that of anti-corona aluminum alloy clamps is -20.0W, and that of pre-stranded suspension clamps (AGS) is -27.1W. The experimental data shows that aluminum alloy fittings have almost no energy loss; instead, they increase the conductive cross-section of the conductor, thus reducing the transmission energy consumption of the line. Among them, the pre-stranded suspension clamp (AGS) has the lowest energy consumption per unit, saving 146% more energy than ferromagnetic clamps and 35.5% more energy than anti-corona aluminum alloy clamps.

 

3. Strong Corrosion Resistance: Pre-stranded fittings are usually made of the same material as the conductor surface. This effectively reduces electrochemical corrosion caused by different metals in the electrical environment, extending the service life of power fittings and conductors in the humid, foggy, and acid rainy natural environments of southern my country.

 

4. Good Applicability: Pre-stranded fittings can be used not only with a range of commonly used conductors and ground wires, including steel-cored aluminum stranded wire, aluminum-clad steel stranded wire, aluminum alloy stranded wire, steel-cored aluminum alloy stranded wire, and galvanized steel stranded wire, but also with insulated conductors, high-temperature conductors, ADSS, and OPGW lines. Evaluations of their application performance show that pre-stranded fittings can be used on almost all overhead power transmission lines.

 

5. Corona Protection Performance: According to data provided by Beijing PLP Company, for pre-stranded fittings used on lines with voltage levels above 500kV, the ends of the pre-stranded wires undergo special treatment to effectively improve the corona protection voltage of the fitting. For lines with voltage levels below 500kV, the same special treatment can be applied.
